HOMEBUSH NSW 2140
Violin and English tutor - 2019 Graduate
Hi, I'm Verity! I achieved scores of 94 in Music 2 and 89 in English Advanced for the 2019 HSC and I will begin studying a university degree that involves undertaking units in English. My aim now is to help tutor students who wish to gain confidence in studying English at school, and violinists (general or AMEB preliminary-grade 4) who aspire to become passionate, technically-fluent, skilled musicians. My nature is to empathise with students and lead them to realise their strengths and overcome their weaknesses. I provide specific advice that aids in solving problems, and I am very patient. However, if students require a teaching style that pushes them outside of their comfort zone to help them fulfil their potential, I am happy to alter my teaching approach. If you would like to know more about me, you can send me a message here - I look forward to hearing from you if you are interested!

I'm confident that I can give you or your child the best possible start to a lifetime of fun music making. I have been fortunate to study with some of the worlds best violinists and teachers, and I get great satisfaction in passing on what I have learnt and watching my students improve. As a pedagogue, my role is to inspire a sense of curiosity and wonder towards music and it’s culture. While it is important to focus on technical mastery over the instrument, it is just as, if not more important, to build an emotional connection with the music that we play. This not only makes it more enjoyable for the student, it also allows for a more personal connection to develop, in turn feeding a desire to improve and excel. When teaching, you must take into account that each student is individual, and everyone has an affinity towards different learning styles. Some learn best aurally, while others may learn better by sight. Using a combination of each style is key to giving the student the best possible chance to develop as a musician. In lesson, I focus mainly on posture and general setup, as it is incredibly important for the student to feel as comfortable as possible while practicing and performing. Aural and visual based learning, which are of equal importance to me as th
