After studying piano from the age of four, I developed a passion for teaching my craft and went on to work in studios in both Queensland and Canberra teaching all age groups.
Following several rewarding years in the studio, I then took myself mobile to regional NSW and QLD, teaching children in remote locations in a touring workshop of piano and basic music theory.
I now wish to pursue teaching piano online to students remotely in a hope to spread my knowledge of and passion for piano even further.
Music theory is an integral part of learning an instrument and I love finding an approach to learning theory that makes sense for the individual student. This can include games and challenges to break up the book work.
I have taught singing to Eisteddfod students, small choir groups and as a hobby for over three and a half years. I believe singing is a joy and therefore should bring joy to the singer and the audience.
As well as singing, I have taught speech and drama for over three and a half years to students who are performing in Eisteddfod as well as to adults who are pursuing public speaking in their careers or personal lives.
Learning how to address an audience or perform a dramatic piece to influence or impact people is a powerful skill and one I believe everyone should hone to some extent.
