I am currently in my final year of a history major at Melbourne University and I intend to continue on to post graduate studies. My area of speciality is the medieval and early modern periods, however I have also studied the major revolutions, world wars, and nationalism. I am also very interested in the history of medicine and examining the history of ideas and religion.
I have been teaching cello for quite a few years and currently teach at two primary schools, as well as having private students. I specialise in absolute beginners, either adult or children. I have many students who face challenges with learning due to cognitive or behavioural issues and I tailor my approach so the student feels comfortable and in control.
I have my A.Mus on piano and currently play cello and violin. I am really passionate about music theory as it is the bedrock of understanding how music 'works' (as well as being really fascinating!).
I have a TEFL certification from MyTEFL. I am a patient and calm teacher who works well with students.
I have been sewing since I was a child, as I am very tall and couldn't find any clothes to fit me! I am really keen to show others the basic skills to be able to make your own clothes, and also to show you how you can adjust all those gorgeous vintage treasures you find so they seem to be made for you!
