I am open to teaching multiple genres, and I specialise in improvisation, lead guitar, and creative writing.

I have several years teaching experience, a degree certificate, a current working with children check and national police certificate.

I am a multi-instrumentalist (Guitar, Drums, Singing) well known among peers for my patient, friendly teaching style, and ability to build rapport with beginners and professionals alike.

All lessons are individually designed to follow the student's interests. I will assess your current levels and discuss goals with you to create your individual learning plan. My aim is to ensure that the overall experience is positive and informative, whilst developing an appropriate understanding of music theory along the way.

I am not here to compete with the wealth of information that can be found online, I will show you how to work with it instead! My teaching style will empower you to understand what really goes behind what you are learning and what it means. You can continue to develop in a professional manner in a way that is both enjoyable and rewarding.

I am a passionate guitarist and when I teach I like to focus on rhythm, lead guitar, soloing, improvisation and effects.

Many different warm-ups and exercises to improve different aspects of playing.

We will also focus on aspects such as technique, feel, and creative soloing.

I teach all of my students to a professional standard and get them performance ready. This involves monitoring and ear training and is developed through constructive feedback.

I will look at several different aspects of playing including timing, tone, sound, clarity, creativity, energy and most importantly I work to build their confidence in order to create a strong stage presence.

Music theory plays a very important role in my teaching. I like to show my students what really goes behind what we are studying and how to apply it. By expanding on this it empowers my students to know how the guitar works, so that they can learn and play whatever they wish.

I have found songwriting to be one of the most fun and liberating aspects of music. Embracing your unique voice and style we will approach different aspects including feeling, creativity, expression, writing, structuring and composition.

We will look at vocal coaching, technique, ear training, style and confidence covering many different training exercises.

These can be used to increase vocal range, build power, work with chest voice, mix voice, head voice and explore opening vowel sounds.

Furthermore building on that I like to look into applying theses techniques with your chosen songs.
