I have wide experience in providing remedial numeracy support for students in various disciplines including Nursing and various TAFE-level trade classes as well as for indigenous students completing a University bridging course.
I have experience in remedial literacy support for TAFE-level trade classes as well as for indigenous students completing a University bridging course.
I completed an applied Biology degree at UTAS. My first-year of studies was at Curtin University, where I was (jointly) awarded the Dean's Roll of Excellence for best first year student. I subsequently went on to work in applied research for Australia's largest rock lobster exporter as their Research Manager for 7 years.
I recently retired from my role as CEO of an Australian rock lobster exporter, where over a period of 16 years I helped guide the company to become the largest rock lobster exporter in the world, with offices and facilities across WA and in China. Along the way, I served as Chair of a regional board, helping guide the development of a highly successful, locally governed University Centre that has since become a model for other centres across Australia. I thrive on critical and objective thinking, evidence-based decision making, creative problem solving and opportunity creation. I enjoy challenging others to critically analyse their own thinking and decision making processes and to reassess their boundaries, beliefs and frames of reference. In the context of education and teaching, perhaps I can help those involved in study projects with a strategic focus, or anyone looking for a sounding board during their MBA studies or similar.
